It has been one month already since this year´s Suprfit Herkules Games 2015 took place for the 3rd time in Kassel (GER) – reason enough to look back on a great event!
The 2015 Suprfit Herkules Games were held just next to the river Fulda again, this time on an even bigger ground than one year before that was much needed as a total of 38 teams (20 men´s and 18 women´s teams) and over 120 athletes were competing over 2 days in 10 (!) workouts.
The organizers of Crossfit Schmiede did their homework pretty well and came up with some cracking workouts that challenged the athletes to their max in a well-organized and timed event. Besides the “obvious” Crossfit workouts and exercises, the athletes went through a couple of additional disciplines such as stand-up-paddling and swimming on and in the nearby river.
Competitors from all over the country gave it their all in a strong starting field which saw some of the best German Crossfit Athletes participate, Paul Vallentin (Crossfit Greifswald), Gregor Schregle (Crossfit Rhein-Neckar) and Regionals-Participant Joshua Wichtrup (Crossfit Flensburg / Aorta) being the most noted.
The event culminated in a final of the top 10 teams after 7 workouts who had to fight for victory in 3 more workouts over 10 and 15 minutes. After 2 days of workouts you can imagine how the athletes must have felt after being told what was waiting for them!
Suprfit, German manufacturer and distributor of Crossfit equipment as well as main sponsor of the event, even equipped the Herkules Games with a custom made Rig & Rack made for outdoor use in a special, giving the event an extra flair of uniqueness.
Rumour has it that that next year´s Suprfit Herkules Games will be held on an even bigger ground, with a nearby football stadium being at the centre of the whisper. After the success of the 2015 event a bigger ground will surely be needed as there were a lot of positives to be heard in the aftermath, making it a logical consequence to upscale the 2016 Suprfit Herkules Games with new athletes and competitors welcome!
